Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus was one of the most ambitious armament projects of the Third Reich, developed during World War II. Designed as a super-heavy, prototype tank weighing about 188 tons, it was the technological extreme of its time.
The project was developed by Krupp on behalf of Wehrmacht, and it was supervised by Ferdinand Porsche himself.
Although mass production was planned, only two incomplete copies were ultimately created. After their capture by the Red Army in 1945, parts of both vehicles were assembled into one complete model, which can still be seen today in the Tank Museum in Kubinka near Moscow.
