The Panzer III was a German medium tank from the Second World War designed and manufactured by Daimler-Benz, it saw service in most theatres of ww2 from north Africa, to the Eastern front, serving with the German Army from 1937-1945. During the production period from 1937 to 1943 it was constantly upgraded. The "J" version was equipped with a long-barrelled 50 mm KwK 39 L / 60 gun and additional Armour. The role of the Panzer III was originally to supplement the early Panzer IV variants in an ant-tank role. However by the late stages of the war several upgrades to both these vehicles meant they had effectively swapped roles! The panzer III chassis was also used for the famous StuG III assault gun / Tank destroyer, which itself was one of the most effective vehicles the Germans had in an anti-tank role.
A completely new model made of COBI construction blocks has many movable elements such as: opening hatches, movable barrel of a cannon, and rotating wheels and tracks in a new size! The option to build two versions of the gun (2-in-1) is noteworthy. Additional elements allow the builder to choose between the long and short-barrelled version of the tank! A large number of accurate prints recreate important details of the vehicle! The service hatches can be opened to see the brick-built engine mounted inside the vehicle. Another advantage of the set is a very solid construction, which faithfully reflects the original shapes of its historical inspiration.
