Northrop B-2 Spirit
£89.50
The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is an American stealth strategic bomber in a flying wing configuration, capable of carrying conventional and nuclear weapons. It was created in response to the development of Soviet radar systems; the program began in 1981, and the first flight took place in 1989.
More than 130 aircraft were planned, but after the end of the Cold War, only 21 were produced. The enormous costs meant that the price of one B-2 exceeded $2 billion, making it the most expensive aircraft in history.
Thanks to stealth technology and global range, enabling very long combat missions, the B-2 has participated in operations since 1999, including in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, and in June 2025, B-2s participated in bombing targets in Iran, remaining a key element of strategic deterrence to this day.
The COBI brick version of the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is an icon of military aviation captured in a perfectly designed model.
