Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird - Executive Edition

The SR-71 Blackbird is one of the most iconic machines in the history of aviation, which has inspired admiration and respect for decades.

It was the fastest aircraft ever introduced into operational service in the Air Force. It was designed at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s on behalf of the CIA but was also operated by NASA and the USAF.

A total of 32 SR-71s were built. Due to the very high costs of maintaining this aircraft and the infrastructure necessary for its operation it was withdrawn in the late 1980s. Now, the role of SR-71 aircraft has been taken over by reconnaissance satellites and drones.

Only in this exclusive edition does the set contain figures of two pilots: a USAF pilot and a NASA pilot, dressed in characteristic suits with helmets designed for flying at very high altitudes. Additionally, the plane has NASA markings available only in the Executive Edition.
